Hyper Backgammon
The game of Hyper Backgammon starts with 3 checkers on the respective 22, 23 and 24 points for each side. Jacoby rule is in effect and the cube is in play. Matches will begin at 7 points and start to gain more at later rounds. All of the other backgammon rules are the same.
Nackgammon
The nackgammon game is the same as regular backgammon except for different starting positions: you put four checkers on both the midpoint and 6-point instead of the usual five. The remaining two checkers are moved to the 23-point.
The game was invented by Nack Ballard (ergo the name), in order to make his backgammon students practice in positional play. The nackgammon games tend to be longer because a player can't easily start the game with rolls such as 6-5 or 6-6.
Gul Bara
The Gul Bara game is a lot like Narde except for the fact that doubles are very powerful moves, for example if a player rolls 1-1 the he gets to move 1 four time then 2 four times and so on until 6 four times.
Diceless Backgammon
It's a fact that there is another version of backgammon, which is actually more popular then the regular version of backgammon commonly known especially in the former Soviet Union countries of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. These are the Main features of the game:
·the two player move in the same direction. (counter clockwise)
·starting positions are different.
·players aren't allowed to hit (that changes the strategy of the game)
there are tournaments in which people play this version of diceless backgammon , i.e calling their rolls. Because of this fact there is time limitation on these tournaments.
